Journalist and commentator on TF1, LCI, and France Info, Jean-Pierre Gaillard is the most well-known “Mr. Stock Market News” among the French residing inside or outside our borders. Across all media, his voice, speech rate, intonations, and pocket squares have become true barometers of the daily activity of the stock market.

Jean-Pierre Gaillard began his journalistic career at La Vie française, then at Europe 1, Sud-Ouest, Le Parisien, and finally France Inter. His rise in the field of economic journalism quickly led him to become a Stock Market Commentator on Radio France and the France Overseas Network. In 1987, he established the stock market commentary on the airwaves of France Info.

He also became a stock market commentator for LCI in 1995; Vice-President, Treasurer, then Secretary General of the French Federation of Press Agencies between 1996 and 1998; and then President of the Union of General Information Press Agencies and Treasurer of the Audiovisual and Multimedia Union in 1998. “Les Guignols de l’info” even dedicated a segment to him, making him an indispensable figure in the French stock market landscape.

Editor-in-chief of La Cote bleue, a stock market information dissemination company catering to a large portion of national dailies, he is the author of several works aimed at better explaining the mechanisms of the stock market to enthusiasts (“The Stock Market and the Internet” or “The Stock Market: Building a Portfolio” published in 2001) as well as to novices (“I Teach My Mother About the Stock Market” published in 2005).

His latest book, “My Life at the Stock Market,” published on February 25, 2005, recounts his entire career following a retirement that does not equate to inactivity. Since September 2005, he has chaired the Cercle des Épargnants.
