Above all, she is an expert in introverted and extroverted communication. She helps quiet and not-so-quiet people to better understand themselves and others. She believes it is important that we take a closer look at this significant and well-known difference between personalities.
With a professional background in science as well as in science management and international collaboration (Germany and Japan), Sylvia Löhken knows from years of experience the hurdles that can arise between introverts and extroverts in collaboration and communication – as well as the opportunities that arise when the differences are understood and utilized.
In early 2012, Sylvia Löhken’s book “Quiet People – Strong Impact” was published by Gabal Verlag. It became a bestseller with significant media resonance. From “Wirtschaftswoche” to “Capital” to FAZ and “Handelsblatt”; from Bayerischer Rundfunk in the south to WDR and HR in the west to NDR in the north: The “small difference” between introverts and extroverts has become an important public topic across many channels, affecting and engaging many people personally.
“Der Spiegel” made the topic its cover story in August 2012.
Dr. Sylvia Löhken is the Speaker of the Year 2012.
