About Sven Ripsas

Sven Ripsas is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin). His main research focus is the development of innovative business models. Since the summer of 2012, Sven Ripsas has been leading a project to develop a startup monitoring tool (Berlin Startup Insights). Sven Ripsas is involved in young companies as a consultant, supervisory board member, and, through his founded Daring Spirit UG, also as a business angel.

In addition to teaching at HWR Berlin and his startup activities, Sven Ripsas, who founded the Berlin Institute for Startups in 1995 with Germany’s first business plan competition, is the head of the scientific advisory board of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) in Germany. For his activities, he was honored by Babson College (Boston, MA) with the Appel Prize “for bringing entrepreneurial vitality to academia.”

Sven Ripsas gives lectures on his research focuses “Development of Innovative Business Models,” Social Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurship Training, and conducts workshops for existing companies to further develop their business and revenue models.

Based on his experience as a triathlete and yoga teacher, it is his time to unleash everyone’s potential.
