Steven Gudde is Director of Labor Market, Development & Impact at Olympia. There, he is responsible for translating Olympia’s impact ambition into strategy, policy, service concepts, and behavior.
He is also a writer, columnist, speaker, and (guest) lecturer at various training and educational institutions. Steven was a long-time lecturer at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where he is now a guest lecturer. He once aspired to become an actor but eventually graduated as a mechanical engineer from TU Delft, focusing on organizational cultures and the human element as a success factor in a production environment. After his military service, he pursued a career in the HR services industry. Before joining Olympia, he worked at PwC, Brunel, Gartner, Randstad, IBM, and Yacht.
In addition to his contributions to various research, publications, and books, Steven is and has been active in advisory boards at organizations like Evofenedex, Nyenrode, ABU, ROC Amsterdam, and LinkedIn.
You don’t necessarily do that through grand and dramatic interventions. The real power might lie precisely in the small gesture. As a leader, as a colleague, and as a human being.
Although originally a techie, Steven believes in the power of the ‘soft’ elements. Steven talks and marvels about themes related to work, employment, the labor market and labor relations, and how we shape these within society and organizations. What makes it work? And why does it sometimes not work? Which numbers and assumptions are accurate? And which are completely not? Steven engages you with content, amazes and questions, takes you on a journey with his personal stories, makes you laugh, sometimes provokes. And he will always touch you.
He is available as a speaker for very large events. Just as well as in a small intimate setting. But also as a panelist, reflector, moderator, and discussion leader.
