He has made first ascents on all seven continents. His spectacular expeditions have taken him to North India, Nepal, North America, Antarctica, South Africa, and Patagonia. He has also left his mark on the great walls of the Alps. Alone through the north face of his home mountain, the 3970-meter-high Eiger, he has climbed around 30 times on various routes. The Swiss all-rounder is among the world elite in alpinism. Whether it’s big wall, rock, ice, or mixed climbing – Stephan Siegrist combines all disciplines.
In addition to alpine successes, Siegrist regularly impresses with spectacular projects on the highline or as a base jumper.
Stephan Siegrist was born in 1972. He grew up in Meikirch, Switzerland, a village in the Bernese Mittelland, from which, in good weather, there is a great view of the Bernese Alpine landscape. After finishing school, he initially trained as a carpenter. However, as the mountains increasingly captivated him, a ski tour sparked his passion, he decided on further training – as a mountain guide. Since the age of 26, he has earned his living as a professional alpinist and mountain guide.
The amiable Swiss demonstrates in his lectures that burning passion can literally ‘move mountains.’
