Rob B. Tol connects people as an inspirer. This allows communication to flow in both directions within organizations among employees and towards their target audiences. He is a true marketer and networker.
Rob worked for twenty years within the Siemens Group. With his consulting firm, he focused on strategy, positioning, and profiling in government and business markets for twenty years. He holds positions within various professional, industry, cultural, and ICT initiatives.
Rob was named Networker of the Year in 2007. He founded the Network Academy in 2009 and delivers successful presentations, workshops, masterclasses, and training sessions. His knowledge and experience in communication and networking have been compiled into various books.
He studied creative subjects at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and the Photography School in Apeldoorn. He then pursued various Marketing & Communication courses. He participated in several management training programs and courses within the international Siemens corporation. He also completed the Corporate Communication in Business Perspective program at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
As side activities, he was the chairman of Sustainable and BtoB for the SAN ‘Accent’ jury. Furthermore, he was a member of the Business-to-Business Communication committee of the Association of Dutch Advertisers (BVA) for five years.
He was also a lecturer at STEM (Foundation for Technology and Marketing) for about ten years.
Since 1998, he has been an active member of the Rotterdam Communication Platform, ENC (Economic Network Capelle a/d IJssel), the World Trade Center Club Rotterdam, and i-Portal – Rotterdam. He has been a member of MarkIT (Marketers in the ICT sector) from the beginning. He was also a co-founder of the ICT-Platform i-Portal and co-founder of Rotterdamse Slag B.V. Since 2003, he has been a council member of Rabobank Rotterdam and chairman of the THEMATER foundation.
