About Renate Gerschtanowitz-Verbaan

After working as an international model for eight years and living in cities such as London, Sydney, New York, and Japan, Renate Verbaan was ready for a new challenge in her life. Her passion for music brought Renate to the music station TMF in 2004. After a screen test, Renate was voted the new VJ of the music channel by viewers during the TMF Awards. For TMF, she presented shows including ‘PLAY’, ‘Modelfacts’, and ‘Reaction’. Additionally, Renate searched for all the hotspots in Europe for the program ‘Travelfacts’ and hosted the TMF Awards twice. In 2006, Renate Verbaan made the transition to RTL Nederland, where she presented shows such as ‘Beauty & The Nerd’, ‘Revenge of the Nerds’, ‘Lost in Tokyo’, and ‘RTL Travel’. Renate also took on the hosting of ‘Daten in het Donker’ and the popular fashion program ‘Project Catwalk’.

Since 2009, Renate has been the face of NET 5. Together with presenter Erik van der Hoff, she hosted the renovation program ‘Het Blok’. Additionally, Renate has been a presenter for ‘Met de Deur in Huis’, ‘Masterchef’, and ‘Secret Story’. Whether it’s a location, studio, or live program, due to her wide-ranging interests and flexible working style, Renate feels at home everywhere. In 2012, Renate started presenting ShowNieuws and in 2014 she hosted the program ‘Wie goed doet’ on SBS6, where she is currently seen again.
