Reinhold Robbe was a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 2005 and subsequently served as its Commissioner for Armed Forces until May 2010. In this role, he made a name for himself as a courageous critic of issues within the Bundeswehr.
Since 2010, he has been the President of the German-Israeli Society and since 2013, he has served as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Rwanda in Germany. In parallel, Robbe is the Managing Director of the security policy consulting institute DIDES GmbH in Berlin.
Even after leaving the office of Commissioner for Armed Forces, Reinhold Robbe continues to advocate for the concerns of German soldiers, such as at the Round Table ‘Solidarity with Soldiers’.
Robbe is also the Vice President of the German Atlantic Society and has been a member of the General Synod of the Evangelical-Reformed Church since 2009.
