Pierre Lefèvre is a seasoned moderator and speaker with over a hundred conferences and round tables on topics related to sustainable development: biomass energy, urban revitalization, rural territory development, water and biodiversity governance, air quality, architecture and health… He supports institutions and companies in their reflections during debates involving elected officials, researchers, entrepreneurs, associations, and also the general public.
His expertise is based on a multidisciplinary mastery of sustainable development issues, from global to local, from technical to social. He owes this mastery to his 18 years of journalism spent around the world covering environmental topics, as well as to his previous activities as an engineer and development anthropologist.
Previously, as an expert engineer, he carried out expertise missions on energy and environmental issues for large groups and SMEs. And, as a development anthropologist, he worked on North-South relations for French and international institutions.
Finally, he has also taught courses on sustainable development at the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), guiding students in their reflections and actions for a sustainable campus.
An expert for the media on sustainable development issues for 18 years, Pierre Lefèvre serves as a conduit for words and ideas in the written press (Sciences et Vie, Alternatives économiques, Le Pellerin, Ecologik…) and publishing (La Martinière, Le Cavalier Bleu, Bayard, Actes Sud…). For television (France 5), he has written and co-directed three 52? documentaries on the future challenges of sustainable development in the Mediterranean. Finally, he regularly travels around the world (Colombia, Sweden, Norway, Polynesia, East Timor, West Africa, Benin, Congo, Guinea…) to produce major reports for radio (RFI, France Inter).
Pierre Lefèvre received the 2004 Environmental Book Prize and the 2013 Ecoreportage Prize. He is a finalist for the Roberval Youth Prize.
