Petra Van der Veen knows first-hand, that life can seem limiting. After all, she grew up in a Dutch military family stationed in Germany.

“All of the kids of military parents were raised very strictly – discipline was very normal, it was part of our lives from the day we were born,” recalls Van der Veen. She was shocked when she returned to the Netherlands and saw that kids were raised there differently.

“The children were shouting to each other, not paying attention in class,” she says. “It was the first time I realized white isn’t just white, black isn’t just black.”

Now, Petra Van Der Veen lives her life, knowing there are no real restrictions out there.

“No matter how you were conditioned, from the day you were born you can do everything you want,” she says.

For Petra, that means keeping a career she loves and being a loving mother. Starting out in corporate management, having two kids made Petra decide to work from home. So she formed a successful direct-selling business in the cosmetic industry, followed by a health and wellness business, and then an internet-based home shopping company.

Now, after conducting intense international research and becoming a certified life coach, Petra shares her experience, strength and knowledge with men and women who are ready to be their own boss.

Her company, The WE Company, Women Empowered, reaches out to women all over the world and helps them work with and improve their own attitudes, attitudes within their home environments and attitudes in the corporate world.

“It’s our mission to empower everyone, whether in a household, family or multi-millionaire business executive position,” says Van Der Veen.
