Ralph van Raat is a renowned classical pianist who performs worldwide, from Los Angeles to Shanghai. As a multiple prize winner of national and international competitions, he has released more than thirty CDs. His performances are regularly heard on radio and television, and he is a highly sought-after speaker. Additionally, he teaches at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo in Turin. He has collaborated with many prominent living composers, conductors, and orchestras. His performances are known for their expressiveness and engagement with the audience, making him a unique and inspiring musical personality.
This icy performance combines polar science and modern piano music, and tells everything about glaciers, ice ages, snowflakes, and tundra. In the performance, with music by, among others, Debussy, Boulez, Ligeti, and Tanaka, Peter calls for doing everything possible to preserve the unique polar regions.
