1. Counting Eskimo words for snow

This icy performance combines polar science and modern piano music, and tells everything about glaciers, ice ages, snowflakes, and tundra. In the performance, with music by, among others, Debussy, Boulez, Ligeti, and Tanaka, Peter calls for doing everything possible to preserve the unique polar regions. Cameraman Ruben Kocx has created a beautiful visual montage to a piano piece by Anthony Fiumara, with video from Peter’s journeys to Spitsbergen in 2015 and 2017:

2. Expedition Resonance

In Expedition Resonance, Ralph and Peter take you into the dizzying world full of physics that lies behind the weather, and told everything about rainbows, lightning bolts, hailstones, and low-pressure areas. Peter also explains how and why the weather changes in a warming world. Ralph van Raat frames this swirling programme with beautiful matching pieces by, among others, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Debussy, Berio, and Sciarrino.
