Onno Innemee grew up with his parents and two older sisters in the Schilderswijk district of The Hague. From a young age, he was exposed to theater. His parents were successful amateur actors. After high school, Innemee moved to Leiden where he graduated in computer science in 1990. During his student years, theater became an important part of his life. At the Leiden student association Quintus, Innemee formed the duo ‘Basterd’ with Bart Leijnse. In 1991, they won the Wim Sonneveld Prize at the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival. His solo career began with the performance ‘Kip zonder kop’. He was also one of the regular comedians on the VARA radio program ‘Spijkers met Koppen’ and worked for some time both in front of and behind the scenes of the TV variant ‘Kopspijkers’. The characters that Innemee plays in his performances are often mentioned by the audience as highlights of the evening. This led him to the idea of creating a full-length solo comedy farce, resulting in a new form of theater. ‘Who Killed Onno Innemee?’ was his first solo comedy farce in which Innemee plays seven different characters himself. The comedy farce was well received. Following this success, Innemee worked on ‘It’s a madhouse here’ and ‘Oh dear, Dad Day!’; both solo performances in which he again takes on all the characters. Onno Innemee is versatile as a speaker. In consultation with the client, Onno plays a new employee, a neighborhood resident, or for example, a director of a consulting firm. The character he plays is completely believable and misleads the audience entirely. In most cases, he speaks with a speech impediment, causing the audience to witness the first minutes with embarrassment. Soon, a liberating laugh follows, and that laugh is the main focus of his speech. Onno can handle all topics and tailors his lecture with an intelligent perspective.
