Olivier Oostelbos is a speaker and lecturer in Leisure & Events Management at NHL Stenden. Previously, he led the training agency Jelloo for 15 years, specializing in atmosphere and experience. With his background in entertainment and storytelling, he knows how to inspire his audience.
Olivier was the owner and director of Jelloo bv for 15 years, a training agency focused on atmosphere and experience. He led a team of 10 trainers, all with a background in entertainment, making each training not only educational but also a celebration for the participants. As a result, Jelloo developed into an industry-recognized training provider with training programs for both companies and educational institutions (MBO and HBO).
In 2019, Olivier received the opportunity to innovate education from within at MBO Amersfoort. This was a delightful challenge, but unfeasible in a part-time role. Therefore, he chose to leave Jelloo behind and fully immerse himself in education. After several years as the principal of the School for Tourism and Management, Olivier made the transition to higher education. Since 2023, Olivier has been a lecturer at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, in the Leisure & Events Management program, in addition to being a speaker.
Olivier is an energetic and inspiring speaker, who has delivered presentations in both the corporate sector and in education and government for over 25 years. Olivier aims to inspire his audience with his presentations. Therefore, he carefully constructs his presentations based on storytelling. He guides you through examples and practical situations that ensure relatability and practical application. His background in entertainment greatly helps to create a festive atmosphere. All presentations are customized according to the target audience, location, and the organization’s goals.
Olivier has written several books about experience in various contexts, including hospitality, retail, events, and sports. The fundamental idea is that there is a difference between your task and your work. Your task is linked to your position, but your work is connected to experience, or making people happy. More focus should be placed on that.
