In a world where these two realms often clash, Nouhaila proves to be the perfect bridge builder. She happily steps into the experiences of young people and brings those insights to adults. In 2025, she was elected 'Teacher of the Year Amsterdam 2025'.
Online she is known as Mrs. El Guebli, but you can call her Nouhaila! Although all her students simply call her Mrs. El Guebli – and you might know her from that: funny, engaging, and relatable videos of her as a teacher in the classroom. Together with the young people she teaches, she experiences the most diverse situations. Her followers are more than happy to enjoy that with her. But Nouhaila is of course more than just a teacher. She is creative, quick-witted, and absolutely not shy about speaking her mind.
Nouhaila el Guebli grows up in Amsterdam and follows the teacher training program for Dutch. In 2024, she decides to share her experiences in the classroom with all of the Netherlands via TikTok. She enjoys discussing a variety of topics with young people, as she sees herself as a bridge between youth and adults. It shouldn’t matter where you come from, as long as you believe in where you can go.
Nouhaila grows up in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, the district where she herself attends high school. She follows the teacher training program for Dutch and then embarks on a world trip, traveling around the globe for fifteen months. But she has a very clear goal: to return to the Netherlands, because she wants to be the teacher she needed in high school. A teacher who focuses more on getting to know yourself, who tells you that it’s okay if you have to repeat a year, and who loves to go on a journey of discovery with her students to find out what their talents are and to explore their identity. She believes that you can achieve much more with that than with the knowledge of what the ‘direct object’ is.
She enjoys discussing various topics, such as (women’s) emancipation, diversity, mental health, identity formation, (in)equality, and future visions. With her broad perspective on the world, her Moroccan cultural background, and her ability to empathize with the lives of young people, she is a true bridge builder between youth and adults. Her dream is a world where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of the neighborhood you come from, your cultural background, or socioeconomic status. She wants to inspire young people: dream big, have ambitions, and nothing is impossible, as long as you work hard for it.
