She started playing tennis at the age of 5, introduced by her father, a tennis coach. At 13, she joined INSEP in Paris to continue her studies and train more intensively. Winner of the Orange Bowl (equivalent of the World Championships) in the under 16 category, she followed up with the final of the Australian Open and the semifinals of Wimbledon and Roland Garros. At the same time, she obtained a scientific baccalaureate at the age of 16.
Her first major result on the professional circuit came at the GDF Suez in Paris, where she reached the quarterfinals at 17 and entered the Top 100 a few weeks later.
A member of the French Fed Cup team from 2000 to 2009, she played in two finals in 2004 and 2005 and achieved a victory in 2003. She was also selected to be part of the Olympic team at the Sydney and Athens Games.
Her most significant results include a victory on the WTA circuit in Gold Coast, and finals in Cincinnati, Oklahoma, and Estoril. In Grand Slam events, she reached the semifinals at the Australian Open in 2005 and won doubles victories at the US Open in 2006, 2007, and Roland Garros in 2007. She notably achieved victories over Venus Williams, Amélie Mauresmo, Kim Clijsters, Jennifer Capriati …
Nathalie retired from tennis in 2009 at Wimbledon, while pregnant with her first son, Lucas. She is now the mother of a second son, Eliot.
She then pursued a Master’s in Sports Marketing at ESSEC, where she wrote a thesis on optimizing sponsorship in women’s sports.
