Michel Fructus

About Michel Fructus

Born on March 27, 1947, in Béziers (Hérault), Michel Fructus is a member of the French Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism. He is also a member of AIEST (International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism) and was the rapporteur for the French-speaking working group at the BREDA congress (Netherlands) in 1988. Until August 31, 1994, Michel Fructus was a certified professor of economics and commercial management in the Marketing Techniques department at the I.U.T. of the University of Toulon and Var. From September 1994 to September 2007, he served as a first-class lecturer in Planning and Urbanism for Training and Tourism Development at IUT A site in Périgueux, University of Bordeaux IV.

Engaged in professional life since 1969, he has gained extensive experience in the field of tourism through both private and public sector practice, reinforced by postgraduate university studies. Among other French university degrees, Michel Fructus holds:

• A Master’s degree in Geography, specializing in Tourism-Leisure-Development-Environment from the U.F.R. of Geographical Sciences and Planning, University of Provence, with honors, in 2000
• A D.E.S.S. in Tourism Economics, CELTE, University of Aix-Marseille II in 1983
• A D.E.A. in Economic Analysis of Institutions, specializing in Tourism Economics from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism, University of Aix-Marseille III in 1985
• State certificates in the fields of sports and tourism (Physical Education, Sailing, and Skiing – training and teaching)

Among his activities in administration and other collective responsibilities are the following:

• Member of the permanent inquiry commission for the ports of the municipality of Saint-Cyr sur Mer (83270), representing tourism associations.
• Co-responsible for the DTA training: Creation and marketing of tourism products at the IUT of Toulon, overseeing internships, relations with tourism partners, financial management of the training (investments, operations, and teaching)
• Responsible for internships in the Social Careers department, specializing in tourism development at the IUT of Périgueux.
• Deputy Secretary of the Promotion Committee of Serre-Ponçon,
• Treasurer of the Development Council of PAYS SUD (Savinois-Ubaye-Durance).
