Dr. Karim Benammar is a philosopher specializing in transformative thinking – the powerful process of examining our assumptions to discover radically new ways of acting. Through his dynamic, interactive lectures and intensive workshops, he guides individuals, teams, and organizations in revising their thought processes and designing practical experiments for groundbreaking results.
Whether addressing professional frustrations, the purpose of organizations in the AI era, or global challenges such as climate change, Karim’s approach is always practical: analyze current thinking, radically shift perspectives, and then implement executable experiments. His motto is: “Change your world by thinking radically differently.”
Karim’s interactive lectures (45-75 minutes) combine engaging presentations with discussions in pairs and group insights. His workshops (2-6 hours) offer a deeper analysis with preparatory research tailored to the organization’s priorities. Both formats are suitable for small groups as well as hundreds of participants, and are available live or online.
Each session follows his proven three-step methodology: analyze current thinking, radically reframe perspectives, and then design practical experiments for immediate implementation.
Karim was born in Germany to an Algerian father and a Dutch mother, bringing an international perspective to his work. He studied philosophy on three continents: he earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Sussex (1987), his doctorate at Penn State University (1993), and then studied Japanese philosophy at Kyoto University.
His academic career includes teaching in Japanese at Kobe University, research positions at the UN University in Tokyo and the Economic Institute UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro, and serving as a lecturer in “Reflection on Action” at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Since 2002, he has worked as an independent philosopher, focusing on practical thinking techniques. He is the author of Abundance (2005), Reflection Tools (2006), Reframing – The Art of Thinking Differently (2012), and Thinking about Money and Value (2013).
Karim Benammar is an enthusiastic and optimistic, solution-oriented speaker. With his unique combination of deep philosophical training and practical business insight, he offers transformative experiences that yield immediate, actionable results.
