Jean-François Roverato, born in Côte d’Or, is the founder of the Eiffage group, the fifth largest construction and concessions group in Europe.
Holding a baccalaureate A’, he graduated from the École Polytechnique (X 64) and also holds an engineering degree from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC 69). He began his career at the Construction Directorate of the Ministry of Equipment from 1969 to 1972 as a Bridge and Road Engineer. In 1971 and 1972, he became a Technical Advisor within the cabinet of Robert-André Vivien, then Secretary of State for Housing.
Between 1972 and 1974, he was Director of the Public HLM Office of Val de Marne, then Director at the Guiraudie and Auffève Company in 1975. He then joined the Fougerolle group in 1975. He served as Director, then General Director of the Group, which would become the Eiffage Group in 1993, of which he was the founder.
He held the Presidency of the group until 2012. In September 2012, he became Vice-President, Lead Administrator of Eiffage.
From 2006 to 2011, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Paris-Rhin-Rhône highways group and since 2006, President of the Rhône-Alpes highways.
From 2006 to 2009, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and, from 2007 to 2009, of the Public Establishment of the Porte Dorée – National City of the History and Immigration. Between 2009 and 2012, he was President of the ASFA.
