About Jack Plooij
If anyone knows all the ins and outs of Formula 1, it is Jack Plooij. As a graduated dentist in Amsterdam, he earned his doctorate in 1992 from the Catholic University of Nijmegen and then traveled around the world giving lectures on implants. This wanderlust and his speaking abilities became the ultimate combination when he was invited by Olav Mol to become a pit reporter for his ultimate passion, motorsport.
Together with Olav, Jack provided all Formula 1 broadcasts for the Dutch channels RTL4 and SBS6 for 15 years. Since 2016, Jack has been working as a sports reporter for Ziggo Sport, producing programs around Formula 1 alongside colleague Robert Doornbos. A beautiful (for now?) highlight was the coverage of the race at the Zandvoort circuit in 2021. Jack is connected to Ziggo Sport as an F1 expert and as an F1 commentator for Grand Prix Radio. He also regularly appears on talk shows to share his expertise. Together with Olav Mol, he travels the country with the F1 theater show, and with Gaston Starreveld, he presents the Grand Prix Dinner Show at various locations across the country.
Over his 15 years of work in the F1 pit lane, he has written 4 books. Jack provides lectures, workshops, and various other presentations for the corporate sector. Every service or product has similarities with Formula 1, and Jack makes a logical and understandable connection between them. Because Jack reports on F1, Dakar, and IndyCars, he has a broad range of knowledge and experience, making every presentation or interview unique. This is evident each time he interviews drivers. He was the first to get Max Verstappen in front of the camera after winning his first world title. A memorable moment for everyone!
