Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the foreign service at Le Figaro, Isabelle Lasserre specializes in defense and strategy issues. She joined the international service of Le Figaro in 1993, after working at Courrier International.
Former correspondent in Bosnia during the war (1992-1994), then in Moscow (1994-1998) during the Yeltsin years, she has covered, as a senior reporter, most conflicts since the early 90s (Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza…) before leading the foreign service desk (2004-2007) and then specializing in defense and strategy issues.
Isabelle Lasserre has also been a regular contributor since 2003 to the journal Politique Internationale, for which she conducts interviews with French and foreign leaders. She has been teaching since 2004 at the School of Journalism at Sciences Po Paris. Finally, she regularly hosts conferences dedicated to International Politics, as well as media training and crisis management sessions.
Isabelle Lasserre received the Diplomatic Press Award in 1999.
She published “L’Impuissance française-Une diplomatie qui a fait son temps” (Flammarion, 2007). While stationed abroad, she also provided numerous correspondences for French radio stations.
A graduate of Sciences Po Lyon and holding a Master’s degree in International Relations from La Sorbonne, Isabelle Lasserre was also an auditor at the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) in 2003, 56th class.
