About Horst Wildemann

Horst Wildemann studied mechanical engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) and business administration (Dipl.-Kfm.) in Aachen and Cologne. After several years of practical experience as an engineer in the automotive industry, he earned his doctorate in 1974 (Dr. rer. pol.), followed by stays abroad at the International Management Institute in Brussels and at American universities. In 1980, he habilitated (Dr. habil.) at the University of Cologne. Since 1980, he has been teaching as a full professor of business administration at the universities of Bayreuth, Passau, and since 1989 at the Technical University of Munich. He has received offers from the universities of Stuttgart-Hohenheim and Dortmund, from the Free and Technical University of Berlin, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, and from the University of St. Gallen.

In addition to his teaching activities, Prof. Wildemann heads a consulting institute with over 60 employees specializing in corporate planning and logistics. In 40 books and over 600 articles, developed in close contact with practice, he has outlined new ways for the economic design of a future-oriented company. Prof. Wildemann serves as a consultant and as a member of supervisory and advisory boards for leading industrial companies.

He has been awarded the State Medal of the Free State of Bavaria, the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany, and honorary doctorates from the universities of Klagenfurt and Passau. Inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame in 2004. Bavarian Order of Merit in 2006. Awarded the Honorary Badge by the Federal Association of Logistics in 2008.
