Frank Grootenboer swapped his senior management position in financial services for the world of sustainability in 2011. As a consultant, he is at the heart of the process of making the built environment and sustainable mobility more sustainable. Circular economy, renewable energy, responsible material use, and CO2 reduction are the key trends. He is also involved in organizing differently, new business models, merging interests, and offering products as services. Buzzwords like autonomous driving and energy-neutral are placed in the right context by him.
Since 2016, Frank has been the chairman of the Stichting PassiefBouwen, the official affiliate of the German Passivhaus Institut. With his international knowledge of highly energy-efficient building and renovation concepts, he shows us the way and comes up with surprisingly efficient solutions. The fact that Frank can speak about this, not only due to his extensive knowledge and constant alignment with companies in this sector but especially through his own experience (from architecture, technical execution, and construction supervision), makes his passion for this subject palpable and genuine.
Frank Grootenboer was a presenter/architectural expert and creator of various renovation solutions for two seasons on the RTL4 program OnsHuisVerdientHet, a program conceived by Energiesprong to raise awareness about the sustainability of homes. He also works as a consultant for municipalities and semi-public organizations to shape the energy transition. From urban distribution to construction logistics and from home sustainability to better utilization of big data.
Frank Grootenboer presents very naturally and energetically. He is media-savvy and has good interaction with his audience, quickly sensing how they should be approached.
Whether it concerns homeowners or tenants, residents of a city or village, or road users, everyone has a share in global warming. Why do so few people do something about it? What is the reason for that? Frank takes you on a story that he tailors to the company or sector for which he is presenting, adding current events and a touch of humor; he will trigger people to think about a global issue after the presentation. Without becoming too technical, he knows how to captivate his listeners. Frank has experienced several times that listeners complimented him for being able to talk so animatedly about a subject, with great enthusiasm and in an accessible manner, which was highly appreciated.
