About François Lépineux

Graduated from HEC, Master CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) obtained after a path through Princeton (Rhône Poulenc) – Barcelona (ESADE) – Tokyo (BNP), François Lépineux is a specialist in Corporate Social Responsibility. Recognized in France and abroad, he has published numerous articles and research works, worked in various types of organizations, and attended the best universities. After his time at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, he completed his training with a DEA in Institutional Economics, awarded jointly by EHESS and the University of Paris X. A few years later, he obtained a Doctorate in Management Sciences at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Paris). He is currently a Full Professor of the Canon Chair at ESC Rennes School of Business, where he directs the Center for Responsible Business.

His areas of interest mainly cover the following themes:

– Management of stakeholder relationships;

– Businesses and the common good;

– Ethical issues in the financial industry;

– The emergence of a global civil society;

– The establishment of new governance models. Subsequently or in parallel to his studies, François Lépineux held various positions: first as a project manager for the French Development Agency in Papeete (Polynesia), then as a research assistant in international finance within the HEC group. He then joined the consulting firm A+B Partners as a consultant responsible for development. He also worked as a scientific coordinator for an interdisciplinary study for the management and social sciences research firm MBBC, before leading a working group for ORSE (Observatory on Corporate Social Responsibility). After these varied experiences, he became co-founder and first President (2002-2005) of ADERSE: this association, recognized nationally by FNEGE, works for the development of education and research on CSR. François Lépineux then worked as a Research Fellow alongside Professor Henri-Claude de Bettignies, holder of the Aviva Chair at INSEAD, while teaching global corporate responsibility at BEM – Bordeaux Management School. He has also been an adjunct professor at other higher education institutions. He is a member of several European and national networks on CSR and regularly participates in scientific committees. He has organized numerous conferences, symposiums, and seminars both in France and internationally. Co-author or co-editor of five works, he has also published about twenty scientific articles and book chapters. He has published, among others:
