Business economist and change agent specialized in operationalizing network leadership
With around 35 years of experience gained at companies such as IBM, Bakkenist, Deloitte, Rijkswaterstaat, ABD/I-Interim Rijk, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, business economist Dirk-Jan de Bruijn has specialized in operationalizing network leadership. This enables him, as the director of a community, to take steps from startup to scale-up. In co-creation with all relevant players, focused on that common higher goal – where each party is held accountable for their responsibilities. From this role, he has operationalized several successful innovations. Additionally, he has two decades of experience as a supervisor, is a sought-after speaker (including TED-X), and has multiple acclaimed management book titles to his name.
A common thread is his fascination for creating value in a 4O context (Governments, Entrepreneurs, Education, Environment) – aimed at solving societal issues (such as flow, sustainability, and safety) – from an ecosystem perspective (‘think big, act small’). His passion lies in operationalizing new innovative concepts through network leadership. In the role of director of innovation processes – focused on inspiring and guiding my team and environment – to take steps towards the next phase of the innovation lifecycle. With a focus on realizing different revenue models: from traditional ‘business to government’ (B2G: government as client) to ‘business to business’ (B2B: government creates an environment that encourages parties to invest).
