About Daan Warnas

Daan Warnas is a well-liked and energetic presenter. As a moderator, he enjoys the mix of a friendly interview, moments of interaction, humor, and alertness. In his mind, he thinks three steps ahead while the program flows in a natural and streamlined manner.

It all started in 2019 during his internship at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum. As a lover of (old) television and music, he felt right at home there. At that time, the exhibition ‘Seriously Funny’ was opened, which was entirely focused on satire. That’s where the idea arose that he could host the satire karaoke and ‘sing’ (with comedic songs from the Netherlands’ archive). This turned out to be a repeated success. During that period, he also served as a moderator for events at Sound and Vision. He stepped out from behind the scenes to the forefront and didn’t want to go back.

What followed were many diverse events across the country. During the corona period, he subsequently organized webinars on behalf of the GGD GHOR. After that, he continued to present for these and other social organizations. Symposia, talk shows, and other gatherings with themes such as media, social work, public health care, education, and entrepreneurship. He also worked for the Ministry of Defence and various municipalities.

Daan is suitable as a moderator for your event, gathering, and video project. He is flexible and knows how to handle almost any situation. He brings humor, interaction, and the necessary experience. He prefers to dive into a challenge just outside his comfort zone and does not shy away from any theme. He often knows how to strike the right chord at the right moment.

Emigrearje nei Fryslân

In the summer of 2024, Daan ‘emigrated’ from Utrecht to Friesland for the program ‘Emigrearje nei Fryslân’, which he produces for Omrop Fryslân. He is learning the language and ends up in a small village above Dokkum, in the northeast of Friesland. In the episodes, he dives into the history of Friesland, goes out onto the mudflats, and cooks onion soup with his neighbor. Themes that come up include food and drink, language, faith, music, sports, and water. He goes on adventures with fisherman Tamme Smit, strongman Wout Zijlstra, and multiple skating champion Marijke Groenewoud. And all of that in Frisian.
