When Cyrielle opens a door, it’s both a whirlwind and the summer sun
that enters with her. With a lion’s mane and a smile on her lips, it seems that with her, nothing
is unachievable. And for the past three years, she has proven it!
Cyrielle started as a journalist on D8 for an animal show. However, she
decided to commit to her true path and left everything behind to delve into two realms,
humanitarian work and ecology.
Sensitive to these two issues since childhood, which she experienced very early on as a child
of the Pop generation growing up to the rhythm of “Heal the world,” “We are the
world,” “Earth Song,” or “Man in the mirror” by Michael Jackson, she embarked on a freelance career.
She then wrote a first project that took her to Bangladesh with the president
of Action Against Hunger in May 2014.
It was from this trip that the notion of commitment took on its full meaning. She met
stateless people for the first time among the Rohingya refugees, a Muslim minority
rejected and persecuted in Myanmar, unwanted throughout Southeast Asia. She also became
aware of the environmental issues related to the dangers of
climate change, with Bangladesh being at the top of the list of countries affected by rising
waters, which could displace 50 million people soon…
Shaken by these issues that confirmed her desire to take action to
help the most vulnerable, this trip would also become a turning point in her life
on a medical level. During a routine check-up the day before her mission, a
cardiologist detected a serious heart defect. Operated urgently a few
weeks after her return from Dhaka, where a prosthesis was placed, Cyrielle woke up with
as much gratitude for life as energy to preserve this environment
that makes our life possible, and so beautiful.
As a Green & Positive Journalist, aware that a new world is already in motion that opens
up the field of possibilities, Cyrielle today highlights the actors of this
“change” through her blog: www.cyriellehariel.com. During COP21, she presented on the site
of Paris Match and on Ushuaia TV in the show Ushuaia le mag since January 2016.
Humanitarian work, ecology, and sustainable development are the three themes that are close
to her heart! In a year, she has met numerous actors, advocates, and leaders in these
fields such as Pierre Rabhi, Nicolas Hulot, Yann-Arthus Bertrand, Robert Redford, the
chief Roani, Captain Paul Watson, Marion Cotillard, the teams from Tara Expeditions,
Matthieu Ricard, Jean Jouzel, Father Pedro Opeka, Dr. Jane Goodall, Bertrand Picard
(Solar Impulse), Catherine Chabaud, Deepak Chopra…
The heart, key to this awareness, has thus become the signature of her photos,
symbol of her commitment, of her #EngagedGuests, as well as that of her personal story.
#ForABetterWorld, welcome to the movement of a glass half full!
