About Catherine Chabaud
Sailor and journalist, Catherine Chabaud has an impressive sports background: 2 solo non-stop circumnavigations (Vendée Globe 1996 and 2000), Catherine is the first woman to have completed a solo, non-stop circumnavigation in a race. 13 crossings of the Atlantic, including 4 solo. Catherine is committed to her current engagements beyond her sports career. She is also involved in sustainable development and climate issues and eco-innovations. At the helm of the “Innovations Bleues” association, Catherine Chabaud organizes, for example, the Tour de France of climate (11 stops by the end of 2015). Sensitive to environmental issues, she is the ambassador of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform Ocean and Climate. Also under her association “Innovations Bleues”, she leads the Future Sailboat project (demonstrator of eco-innovations in boating). In March 2016, Catherine was appointed Ministerial Delegate for the Sea and the Coast.
