The Brunel Solar Team is a seven-time world champion in solar racing and has a passion for sustainable energy and technology.
When thinking of solar racing, one thinks of Nuna. The solar car built by students from TU Delft. The team can call itself world champion 7 times and has also won all 4 races in South Africa.
Universities like MIT, Stanford, and Cambridge repeatedly fall short. How does a team of Dutch students achieve this?
The Brunel Solar Team consists of seventeen ambitious students each year. The students dedicate themselves full-time for a year and a half to build their own solar car from scratch. Organizational, creative, technical, theoretical, and practical skills are combined to create a world-class car and team.
The Brunel Solar Team races in both the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia and the SASOL Solar Challenge in South Africa. The team’s goal is to show the world the power of high-end technology and sustainable energy. The success of the Brunel Solar Team did not come easily; together with Wubbo Ockels, the team has established the 9 winning factors that contribute to the success of the teams.
