1. Whistling Through Change

When things change within your organisation, it can lead to resistance. “Why do things suddenly have to be different, they are fine as they are?” People often like to stick to what is familiar; it is safe. How do you ensure that you remain balanced and retain the enthusiasm with which you once started in a time of change? The answer? Look at possibilities!

If you want to take people along in a change process, it is important that they understand why things are changing. Then it is important that they become aware of their own influence on dealing with these changes. The world is as you are inside. If you learn to look at changes differently, you will think differently. By thinking differently, you will act differently, and by acting differently, you will achieve different results.

2. Speaker on Workplace Happiness

Of course, there is more to life than work, but work can indeed make you happy. In fact, being happy at work – workplace happiness – is incredibly important for your organisation!

You probably recognise it: In every organisation, there are two types of people. First, you have the employees; people who do what they need to do with passion and enthusiasm and are in the right place.

And besides them? Then you have the workers; people who drag themselves to work and start counting down to the weekend on Monday. The effect of this group is a culture that does not contribute to workplace enjoyment and atmosphere.

How do you ensure that your organisation has more of the first group? The group of employees that makes a difference and ensures the organisation thrives? The group that is happy with the work they do?

3. Speaker for Education

How do you ensure that you show up to work every day with enthusiasm and passion? What makes the difference between burning out or remaining passionate as a teacher, special needs coordinator, or support staff? And how do you keep your students motivated when you have to compete with their iPhone? Bart speaks about these and other topics in education.

Education is constantly changing. Classes are getting larger, dropout rates are lower, and then there is the administration required by the education inspectorate. How do you cope when things change within your organisation? Do you keep swimming against the tide, or do you let yourself be carried along and choose how you view the changes?

During this presentation, Bart explains why he was once a ‘challenging’ student in education and how to maintain enjoyment in your work in a changing environment. The presentation is a combination of humour, relatable anecdotes, and interaction.

4. Speaker for Healthcare

How do you ensure that you go to work every day with pleasure and enthusiasm? How do you deal with work pressure and administrative burden? And what is needed to positively handle all the changes in healthcare? Bart speaks about these and other topics in healthcare.

‘Pfff… it seems like I’m only working for the administration here.’ A common statement within healthcare. Why did you actually start working in healthcare? Probably because you like working with people, want to contribute to society, or want to use your knowledge, skills, and experiences for others. Perhaps this is what life is about; relationships. The challenge is that our society is often driven by performance: time and money. And so there are healthcare systems, quality registration, results need to be measured, and there is all sorts of administration that must be fulfilled. And that can lead to experiencing work pressure.

5. Dreams? Do!

We all dream of a different life sometimes. A new job, starting for ourselves, a dream house, or adventure… How is it that some people manage to realise their dreams while others spend their whole lives in the safe harbour? What is needed to bridge the gap from where you are now to where you want to be? The answer might be… courage.

Courage is the unique combination of daring and heroism. It is going for something without knowing what the outcome will be. Fighting for things that are worth fighting for. That means not always choosing the safe path, but sometimes making the choice to take the path where the future is uncertain. And ensuring a plan B if it fails. What makes your heart beat faster? What is your dream job? What does your ideal life look like? And… do you dare to take the leap?

6. Leadership on Sneakers

The success of every organisation and every team depends on leadership. Leading can be quite a challenge. How do you deal with resistance to change? How do you take your employees along? What is needed to achieve results with your team? And how do you remain authentic when under pressure?

Leadership on sneakers is about how you become more effective in your role as a leader while remaining completely yourself. Successful leaders dare to say it as it is, while maintaining connection. They are able to inspire their employees to bring out the best in themselves. The interesting thing is that these ‘High Performance Leaders’ achieve more results with less fuss. They don’t need a sharp suit or authoritarian behaviour but are in service of their team and the organisation.

7. Speaker on Innovation

Does your organisation want to better cope with change and are you looking for an interactive lecture on innovation? Then you are at the right place with Bart.

The world has changed. If you do what you did, you no longer get what you got. The twentieth-century economy is in its final phase. We are slowly saying goodbye to fossil fuels and are looking for a sustainable economic model. According to Jeremy Rifkins, there are three major changes in every industrial revolution:

– we communicate differently
– our energy storage and transition change
– our transport changes

The challenge organisations currently face is to keep up with the changing economy. On the way to ‘the new world’. But how do you do that when you have employees who have been with you for ten or even thirty years? The shift starts with the willingness to change.
