Gunther Capelle-Blancard is a Professor of Economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he heads the Master's program in Money-Banking-Finance. He is also the Deputy Director of CEPII, the leading research center in France for international economics and finance. From 2007 to 2009, he served as a scientific advisor to the Council of Economic Analysis (CAE) for the Prime Minister, where he was notably in charge of the report on the financial crisis ('From the Subprime Crisis to the Global Crisis').

About Gunther Capelle-Blancard

Gunther Capelle-Blancard is a Professor of Economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he heads the Master’s program in Money-Banking-Finance. He is also the Deputy Director of CEPII, the leading research center in France for international economics and finance.

From 2007 to 2009, he served as a scientific advisor to the Council of Economic Analysis (CAE) for the Prime Minister, where he was notably in charge of the report on the financial crisis (‘From the Subprime Crisis to the Global Crisis’, La Documentation Française).

His doctoral thesis on derivatives markets, defended in 2001, earned him the Prize of the Chancellery of the Universities of Paris and the Prize of the French Finance Association-Euronext. Since then, he has been regularly sought after by the media and for conferences on finance and economics, both in France and abroad.

His research focuses on the future of financial systems, socially responsible investment, regulation of markets and financial institutions, and their contribution to the economy.
