Michel Hebert wanted to be a journalist and accidentally entered EMP (the School of Marketing and Advertising). However, influenced by family connections, he quickly realizes that what interests him is entrepreneurship.

Michel Hebert is therefore primarily an entrepreneur. “Entrepreneurship is the most beautiful thing there is,” he says, “because you bring something to life, a business, you develop it, you create a community within the company by hiring people, a family.” “Can you imagine what the world would be like without entrepreneurs?” he often says.

His first entrepreneurial role was to create the first market research company in Morocco, which quickly became the leading research company in the Maghreb and expanded into Sub-Saharan Africa.

After three years, he returned to France and became the first marketing director of the lottery (“It was an entrepreneurial act, he specifies, it was necessary to bring a business to life, to create a habit in society, it was not about managing an existing entity but about building something”). It was also necessary to communicate to raise awareness.

Communication clearly interests him, but he dislikes the dictates of the Parisian microcosm, the heavy and burdensome conventions of this profession, where the focus is more on whether one is within the norm and conventional thinking than on effectively solving the client’s problem.

He started in communication by creating Jump France in Lyon, which began with two people and eventually grew this company to the ninth rank in France with 380 employees. Jump France encompassed all fields of communication. The specificity of Jump France came from the fact that Michel Hebert was an advocate of blending professions. “It is by mixing people who do not think alike that we invent new things,” he often repeats.
