About Frédérick Bousquet

Fred Bousquet is not just an exceptional swimmer with 59 national and international records to his name and a career that is far from over. He is a man who is integrated and fully involved in his environment. Always ready for exchanges with other athletes, new life experiences, or actions directed towards the less fortunate, Fred Bousquet is an accomplished man. His record and performances in the pools speak for him: 31 titles of Champion of France in individual events and 67 medals at the national, European, world, and Olympic levels. He notably won three gold medals at the French Championships in short course in 2010 and 2011, in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m butterfly. At 30 years old, licensed at CN Marseille, Frédérick regularly splits his time between the city of Marseille with his coach Romain Barnier and Auburn, Alabama, where he reunites with head coach Brett Hawke, who has been his most loyal advisor for the past four years. He is successfully continuing his higher education and is currently preparing for a Master’s in ‘Sports Organization Management’ at Aix-Marseille University II. Alongside his training, competitions, and studies, Fred supports charitable activities, continues to invest in the swimming schools of the city of Marseille, and is also making his debut in the fashion world through photo shoots for designers and magazines. A lover of life, he enjoys fashion, music, and world culture. With an exceptional physique and an image of a fashion icon, he has become one of the few athletes to develop his own line of equipment with the Japanese brand MIZUNO. He is also not afraid to take a stand, as he did for his friend Elton JOHN and his foundation fighting AIDS, as well as for ‘Team DARFUR’, ‘A jersey for life’, ‘Magic at the hospital’… Possessing strong international recognition, he presents the image of a modern, stylish, and avant-garde man wherever he goes. He breaks the stereotype of the athlete who is solely focused on their activity or flag. This would be the ideal image of a modern and open France in the new millennium. He was voted the 4th best European swimmer of the year 2009 by the American magazine Swimming World. Frédérick Bousquet is also present on the Pimiento site. In 2014, he was elected on the list of Jean-Claude Gaudin in the municipal elections of Marseille. After participating in the show Fort Boyard, he played the role of a cage master in the same show in 2015.
