About Pascal Baudry

Pascal Baudry is the founder of WDHB Consulting Group, a company based in San Francisco, which has organized approximately 400 “Learning Expeditions” worldwide over 23 years for executive teams of large companies from about twenty countries (including 2/3 of the French CAC 40 groups, most of them more than five times each).

After practicing psychoanalysis in France for about ten years, he led the training of engineers and managers at Régie Renault, then was a senior executive in North America at American Motors, before founding WDHB, which is the global leader in its field.

A civil engineer, Bachelor of Arts, MBA graduate, and holder of a Ph.D. in Psychology, he has taught or conducted seminars over the years at ENA, Ecole Polytechnique (Institut Auguste Comte), Ecole Centrale, and HEC, as well as at various universities, including U.C. Berkeley and Belgrano University in Buenos Aires.

He was a Professor at CRC in Jouy-en-Josas, then at the MBA of the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and worked closely with INSEAD. Passionate about mathematics and specialized in blindfold simultaneous chess, he was awarded the title of Master by the American Chess Federation in 1988.

The comments of some 7,000 internet users served as the basis for deepening the thought and writing of his evolving work, the first essay published in the world in open source: “French and Americans – The Other Shore” (Pearson Ed. 3rd edition, 2007), already with over 130,000 readers. He is currently preparing, with his wife Nathalie Monsaint-Baudry, a book on the French mentality.

He frequently speaks to groups of international executives and often receives feedback that he helps articulate important but generally poorly understood phenomena.

His perspective is that of a psychoanalyst and a Frenchman who has lived in the United States for over twenty years. By observing American cultural traits, he has sought, by reflection, to uncover hidden aspects of his culture of origin and to identify their meanings and correspondences. His perspective is interpretative and explanatory, not merely descriptive. And a good dose of humor doesn’t hurt.
