Philippe Croizon
A Man Unlike Any Other
Philippe Croizon, who lost all four limbs following an accident in 1994, is the first disabled swimmer to successfully swim across the English Channel (in 2010). In 2012, he symbolically connected the five continents by swimming, alongside Arnaud Chassery, an able-bodied swimmer, by crossing four straits, including the Bering Strait. A 110-minute film of this expedition titled 'Swimming Beyond Borders' was broadcast on Thalassa on France 3 in November 2012. For this
