Lucian Sârb began his career in 1994 at TVR, the Romanian public broadcasting group that is also a shareholder of Euronews. After studying Communication and International Political Science, Lucian Sârb chose a career in journalism, becoming a correspondent around the world, particularly in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, for TVR in 1994.

A member of the Euronews Board of Directors from 2003 to 2005, he facilitated the collaboration between Euronews and TVR. In 2004, Euronews launched its first daily Romanian-language news program, broadcast on the TVR2 channel.

From 2006 to 2009, Lucian Sârb was Project Manager and Editorial Director of The Money Channel. He participated in the creation and development of Romania’s first economic and financial channel. Previously, since 2001, he was Head of News at TVR, where he radically reformed the news service. In 2005, he led the live magazine broadcast every Saturday on TVR1 dedicated to international politics and was a member of the Information Steering Committee at the EBU (European Broadcasting Union).

The Romanian journalist Lucian Sârb was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Euronews. He leads a newsroom of 350 journalists who make up the channel’s eight language teams, based in Écully. His journalistic talent also allows him to host high-level conferences.
