“You have a carte blanche to ask everyone anything”.
That is what has attracted Liesbeth Staats to journalism since childhood. Since September 2011, she has been seen as one of the four anchors of KRO Brandpunt. Before that, she gained experience in journalism as a reporter and presenter at AVRO’s EenVandaag and was for many years the face of the NOS Jeugdjournaal. In 2005, she won the Cinekid Kinderkast Audience Award for her reporting for the Jeugdjournaal on the tsunami in Asia.
Liesbeth studied Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Amsterdam and literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. During her studies in Amsterdam, she interned at the Amsterdam TV station AT5. She was able to continue working there as a reporter in the news department, after which she made the transition to the NOS Jeugdjournaal.
In 2011, she started her company StaatsTV and joined The Media Sisters. Two creative organizations that develop formats for TV and the internet.
