Leon Verdonschot is a jack of all trades: journalist, presenter, writer, radio maker, and columnist. He wrote thrilling pieces about encounters with music legends for Revu, Volkskrant Magazine, and De Groene Amsterdammer, for which he received the Pop Pers Prize, hosts his own music program Oeverloos on Kink FM, and reached a wide audience as the presenter of De Nationale Wetenschapsquiz, Wereldgasten, Wat heet!, and Iets met boeken.
Under the ‘V’ in the bookshelf, there must now be room for six Verdonschot titles, such as his finest music encounters in Hart tegen Hart, the first Dutch rock novel Denvis, but also the biography of our national addiction specialist, Keith Bakker. What stands out about all these titles is Verdonschot’s quest for the boundless, the surrender, the passion with which people can lose themselves in music, books, and sometimes life itself.
This energy is something Verdonschot knows how to convey to an audience like no other. He has previously appeared at Lowlands, the Liberation Festival, and De Parade, and this fall he will travel the country with no less than two shows: together with artistic brother Nico Dijkshoorn in Ook voor vrouwen, and as a storyteller during the anniversary tour of Rowwen Hèze.
