Program maker and presenter Lauren Verster has followed the most diverse, interesting, bizarre, and completely ordinary types during her television career, which has now lasted over 15 years. She has spoken with free-spirited hippies in the California desert, the wealthiest entrepreneurs in New York, gang members in El Salvador, devout Rastafarians in South Africa, and mysterious sheikhs in Dubai. If there is one thing Lauren has learned over the years, it is that it is possible to have a good conversation with anyone, at any time: as long as you ask the right questions.
During this appearance, Lauren (supported by playful, humorous, and relatable film and TV clips, as well as entertaining anecdotes from her own TV travels) provides easily applicable tips and tricks to get more out of conversations. Whether you are negotiating with suppliers, dealing with difficult customers on the phone, trying to engage your teenage children in conversation, or wanting to have an inspiring conversation at networking events (or even on first dates!): these tools are for everyone and can be used both professionally and personally. Lauren Verster developed a great love for the television profession at a young age. During her high school years, she worked for the local television station Boschtion, where she was active as a (news) reporter and simultaneously set up a youth program.
After high school, she moved to Amsterdam to study Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam. Here, she further honed her skills in filming, editing, and presenting at regional television stations. Her talent did not go unnoticed by other networks. Soon, she was presenting popular TV programs such as The Kids Choice Awards (Nickelodeon), Sixpack (MTV), and de Jakhalzen (DWDD). She then produced four seasons of ‘Lauren verslaat!’ at the Veronica network; a documentary program in which she traveled with war photographers and reported on worlds that remain closed to most people.
A few years later, she moved to NPO 3 (AVROTROS) where she created ‘Lauren!’ for five years, a documentary series in which she delved into remarkable worlds around the globe. She also hosted adventure game shows such as Expeditie Poolcirkel, Atlas, and The Big Escape.
In 2013, her first book ‘Uit: zuurzoete verhalen over liefdesverdriet’ was published.
Lauren Verster is also available as an enthusiastic and engaged moderator, talk show host, or discussion leader.
