Klaus-Peter Schmidt-Deguelle is one of the most prominent media and PR experts in Germany.
After a journalistic career, where he served as the head of the ARD Current Affairs editorial team in Frankfurt and as the head of the news department and editor-in-chief of the broadcaster ‘VOX’, Schmidt-Deguelle transitioned to politics. From 1994 to 1999, he was the State Secretary and spokesperson for the Hessian state government and later an advisor to the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Federal Ministry of Labor.
Since the year 2000, he has been working as an independent media and PR consultant and additionally served as a personal advisor to the Federal Minister of Finance. In this role, Schmidt-Deguelle was a regular participant at all international conferences (G7/G8, G20, IMF and World Bank meetings, EU Finance Ministers’ Council meetings, the ‘Weimar Triangle’, bilateral government consultations, etc.).
Since 2008, Schmidt-Deguelle has been a board member of WMP Eurocom AG, one of the largest communication consultancies for businesses and institutions in the fields of economy, media, politics, culture, and sports.
In addition, Schmidt-Deguelle is active in numerous honorary positions, including as a board member of the ‘Fondazione L’ Unione Europea Berlin’ foundation and as a member of the jury for the “POLITIK AWARD”.
