Johnny de Mol first appeared on television in 2000 in various series. Through his roles in ‘Baantjer’ and ‘Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden (RTL 4)’, ‘Costa! (BNN)’, ‘All Stars (VARA)’, and ‘Spangen (TROS)’, the Netherlands got to know the young actor. Since 2002, Johnny has appeared in TV series such as ‘Bon Bini Beach (Yorin)’, the police series ‘Russen (KRO)’, ‘BandI + I I (VARA)’, ‘Rozengeur & Wodka Lime (RTL 4)’, ‘Van Speijk (Tien)’, and ‘Penoza (KRO)’, as well as his own program ‘100% Johnny’ on music channel TMF. Presenting seems to be in Johnny’s blood. For his program ‘Waar is De Mol?’, he has been traveling the world for six seasons with well-known Dutch personalities, and for Veronica, he presented ‘Down met Johnny’ and ‘Beat de Mol’. Additionally, Johnny continues to act. He plays guest roles in the NET 5 series ‘De Co-assistent’ and ‘Verborgen Gebreken’ and secured one of the lead roles in the BNN series ‘Walhalla’ in 2011. Theater: In the theater, Johnny feels just as comfortable. He shines in 2003 alongside Katja Schuurman in the play ‘Onze Jeugd’ and in 2006, Johnny plays one of the lead roles in the Theater Audience Award-nominated play ‘Sexual Perversity’. In 2009, he tours with the performance ‘Romeo Over Julia’ across the Netherlands. Film: Acting on the big screen begins for Johnny in 2002 with the film ‘Oesters van Nam Kee’. Various lead and supporting roles follow in 2003 in the films ‘Boy Ecury’ and ‘The Emperor’s Wife’, and in 2004 in ‘Drijfzand’ (Golden Image for Best Actor), ‘Cool’, ‘Simon’, and ’06/05′. The following year, Johnny continued his acting career with a role in the Dutch/Belgian action comedy ‘Vet Hard! (titled ‘Volle Gas’ in Belgium)’. From 2006, he appeared in smaller film productions ‘Sarah en Hij’ and ‘Ver van Familie’ as well as in larger productions ‘Ik Omhels Je Met Duizend Armen’, ‘Vox Populi’, and ‘Zwartboek’. In 2011, Johnny starred in the film ‘Patatje Oorlog’, based on the award-winning book ‘Een kleine kans’ by Marjolein Hof. ‘Patatje Oorlog’ won, among other awards, the Best European Film award presented by the European Children Film Association and the Best Children’s Feature Film Award at the International Children’s Film Festival. In 2013, Johnny starred alongside Najib Amhali in the film ‘Valentino’, and in September of this year, ‘Smoorverliefd’ will be released. DJ: Both nationally and internationally, Johnny regularly performs in clubs as a professional DJ. Family: Johnny de Mol comes from a true media family. He is the son of singer Willeke Alberti and TV producer John de Mol. Johnny’s aunt is presenter and actress Linda de Mol.
