Jean-Yves Boriaud is a historian, a French specialist in Ancient Greece, and a literary critic. With an impressive academic background, he holds the CAPES in Classical Literature (1973) and the Agrégation in Classical Literature (1974). He also obtained a Doctorate of advanced studies (1982) and the habilitation to supervise research (Paris IV Sorbonne – 1999).
He began his career as a teacher in middle and high schools and is also involved in the training of teachers of Classical Literature for the Poitiers region. In 1985, he became a teacher in preparatory classes for Grandes Ecoles and a lecturer at the University of Poitiers and the Poitiers Business School. In 1990, he became a lecturer at the University of Toulouse II-Le-Mirail and in 2000, at the University of Nantes. Since 1990, he has also been a project manager for the General Inspectorate of National Education.
