Specialist in nutrition and sports biology, Jean-Louis Etienne has participated in numerous expeditions in the Himalayas, Greenland, Patagonia, and the round-the-world sailing race on Pen Duick VI with Eric Tabarly. In 1986, he became the first person to reach the North Pole solo after 63 days of walking and completed the longest crossing of Antarctica ever achieved: 6,300 km by dog sled. A tireless defender of the planet, he has led several educational expeditions to raise awareness about polar regions and understand their role in life and the Earth’s climate. He contributes to numerous scientific missions. His expeditions always serve as a basis for educational programs in Life and Earth Sciences. Jean-Louis is also the author of several books.
