Harm Edens is the host of BNR Mediazaken, the radio program about advertising, marketing, and media, and since 1996 of the TV program Dit Was Het Nieuws!
Harm Edens is the host of BNR Mediazaken, the radio program about advertising, marketing, and media. He is well-known to the general public as the host of the program Dit Was Het Nieuws, 14 years with TROS, and 6 years with RTL4. Previously, he contributed to programs such as Het Zonnetje in Huis, Sam Sam, and In de Vlaamsche Pot.
Sustainability and nature are two topics that often come up in matters that Harm is involved with. His work as a WNF ambassador is the best example of this. In many of his other charitable causes, these themes are playing an increasingly significant role. For NCRV, Harm hosted the daily talk show On Air (live, from Schiphol). His work has been described as sharp and empathetic by both critics and fans. He combined good listening with incisive questions and extensive knowledge of the subject. And of course, always with humor. Additionally, Harm hosted the NTR series 10xBeter, a particularly positive program about all the beautiful and often sustainable developments in our world.
At Omroep Gelderland, Harm produces various programs, including the highly viewed human interest program Gelderse Koppen and Het Vierdaagse Journaal, which won a NL Award this year. He also writes columns for various magazines, such as LINDA, Roots, and the NVM site. Harm has 15 years of experience as a moderator, discussion leader, and interviewer for a wide range of events, symposia, and corporate gatherings. From large presentations and debates, talk shows, and major live interviews to product launches and very personal presentation training and coaching. Whether he is interviewing professors for a room full of future students or hosting an award ceremony, Harm aims to make real contact. His engaged attitude makes his presentation unique and confrontational. Humor is an important part of this.
In addition to hosting major live shows, such as Het Gouden Harpen Gala, the preliminary rounds of the Songfestival, De Gouden Loeki, and De Leraar van het Jaar, Harm also contributed to educational programs at Teleac and NCRV, such as the live show Zeg Eens Soa! Harm is broadly developed and utilizes both his professional and personal experience for the best results. As a Dutch linguist and dramaturg, he is also culturally well-versed.
