Coming from the preparatory courses Hypokhâgne and Khâgne, Gilles Vervisch earned a bachelor’s degree, then a master’s degree in Philosophy from the University Panthéon Sorbonne, both with High Honors. The subject of his master’s thesis was “The Position of the Moral Problem in HUME.” He then attended the École Normale Supérieure for the agrégation. He obtained his agrégation in philosophy in 2000.
Since 2000, he has been a teacher first at Lycée Jules Ferry (Paris), then at the lycée of Saint-Valéry-en-Caux and since 2007 at Lycée Paul Emile Victor in Osny. Since 2011, he has regularly appeared on Radio France with a philosophy column “façon de penser,” on Le Mouv’, which combines philosophical reflections and current events with a humorous and accessible style for the general public. During August 2012, he hosted a weekly show “Je bronze, donc je suis,” also on Le Mouv’.
He was invited by TEDx Concorde (co-produced by Canal+) to speak on the theme of “diversity.”
