Bascha Mika is one of the most well-known and distinguished journalists in Germany. Until 2009, she was the editor-in-chief of the ‘tageszeitung’ (taz) for many years, where she had previously worked as an editor and reporter. One of her main areas of focus has been and continues to be the societal role of women and the power dynamics between genders in modern societies. Among other things, her critical biography of Alice Schwarzer received particular attention and recognition in this context. Since April 2014, she has been the editor-in-chief of the Frankfurter Rundschau, which she leads together with Arnd Festerling. In 2012, Bascha Mika received the Luise Büchner Prize for Journalism. Since 2007, she has been an honorary professor in the Cultural Journalism program at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
