A graduate of ESCP, majoring in ‘innovate and undertake’, Arnaud Mourot has been leading Ashoka in France since April 2005, an international non-profit organization present in 70 countries, whose goal is to contribute to the development and effectiveness of the social entrepreneurship sector, a sector that ‘undertakes differently’ by placing people at the center of its concerns. Created in India nearly 30 years ago, its flagship program consists of supporting innovative social entrepreneurs to help them amplify their impact on society and widely disseminate their ideas.
Arnaud Mourot launched the program for selecting and supporting innovative social entrepreneurs, which he then expanded to Belgium and Switzerland since 2007. Around this flagship program of Ashoka, he develops foundational actions in the three countries to strengthen and expand the entire social entrepreneurship sector and create synergies with the business sphere.
A social entrepreneur himself, Arnaud Mourot founded Sport Sans Frontières (SSF) in 1999, the first French NGO in the field of education/psychological reconstruction through sport. He is currently its President. He is also the founder of various ‘social businesses’, such as La Ruche, and OVALIE in the disability sector. Additionally, he was a member of the French national freestyle wrestling team for 10 years (among the top 5 worldwide in 1998) and a 15-time French champion.
