Arjan Postma has a passion for Dutch nature. As a born storyteller, he eagerly shares his enthusiasm and knowledge with others. He does this lightheartedly and with a lot of humor. Arjan effortlessly captivates a large audience with his stories from the animal kingdom. Arjan and his little dog Skipper make a cheerful duo on stage.

During his lectures, Arjan can cover a variety of topics, always tailored to the audience. He has beautiful stories about the surprising parallels between nature and human nature. For example, consider how easy it is to be a manager when you look through the eyes of your dog or what organizational change agents can learn from ants. The nature around us is full of wise lessons and best practices that organizations can benefit from. Arjan is a treasure trove of stories. Why is transition useful and why are women over fifty great leaders? Why are great tits bullies? And is the hare the bravest animal in the Netherlands? Do humans also have animal instincts? Is culture something only humans possess? Nature is different from what we have always thought. There is no human behavior that animals do not also exhibit; infidelity, homosexuality, prostitution, stealing, cross-dressing, or the clever seduction of partners. Nothing human is foreign to animals, even plants can communicate with each other!

Arjan Postma studied history but soon realized that he actually preferred to be outdoors. He became a forest ranger for the Landscape of North Holland. For many years, he did his job with great pleasure, but gradually his work changed. He found himself in the office more than outside. He chose to become a freelance forest ranger. This allows him to do what he truly enjoys: being outdoors and providing information.

Arjan is particularly well-known to the general public due to his regular appearances on ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ and ‘RTL Late Night’. Additionally, Arjan has contributed to programs such as ‘Het Zijn Net Mensen’, ‘Wie overleeft Nederland?’, ‘Open het Bos’, and ‘Lang leve de lente’. For 10 years, he has been producing the TV program ‘Natuurlijk Noord-Holland’ on RTV Noord-Holland.

In 2014, Arjan published his first book: ‘Buiten!’ In it, he tells inspiring and original stories about Dutch nature. The book received rave reviews, was listed for 3 weeks in the CPNB Bestseller 60, and 8 weeks in the Bol.com Top-100. In 2015, ‘Buiten met je hond’ was released, in which Arjan – a great dog lover himself – shares how to turn your walk into an adventure. Currently, Arjan is working on his third book ‘Buiten Blijven’.
