At 34, the flawless career of the rising star of French gastronomy resembles that of a brilliant student who has chosen excellence as her guiding principle.
And yet, the chef’s career could have been different: having obtained her high school diploma with honors a year early, Amandine Chaignot headed to the Faculty of Pharmacy. Surprisingly, the student dropped out shortly after, a sign that the chosen path did not suit her.
She changed course and enrolled at Ferrandi in pursuit of a CAP in cuisine. The path was set, with hard work and fortunate encounters allowing her to work in some of the finest establishments: Maison Prunier, Plaza Athénée, Bristol, Ritz London, Meurice, Crillon, and since 2012, Hôtel Raphaël.
Amandine Chaignot has worked alongside the greatest chefs: Bernard Leprince, Alain Ducasse, Jean-François Piège, Eric Fréchon, and Yannick Alléno, prestigious names that inspire any young cook.
Alongside them, drawing inspiration from their gestures and techniques, Amandine Chaignot has now found her own culinary identity, offering cuisine that is both straightforward, lively, and precise, as well as contemporary, refined, and light.
Amandine Chaignot is the rising star of Haute Gastronomy, among the few women leading the kitchens of a Palace. Respected by her peers, she is now considered one of the leading figures of the new generation of Chefs.
Regarding her recent activities, Amandine Chaignot:
– was Bocuse de Bronze France 2012
– is the honorary patron of the NGO Vision du Monde (the leading child sponsorship NGO worldwide) which initiated the beautiful solidarity and gastronomic project 1Don1Rêve
– collaborates with Malaysia Airlines by bringing a French and feminine touch to the meals served in Business and First classes on the Paris-Kuala Lumpur route
– received the Trofemina Award 2013 in the “Catering” category
– was awarded the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2013
– is a member of the jury for the 4th season of Masterchef on TF1
– is among the new entrants of Who’s Who 2013.
