An extraordinary sailor for over 25 years, Bertrand de Broc is an iconic figure in sailing, recognized in the world of offshore racing. A charismatic personality in the sailing community, Bertrand de Broc is particularly appreciated and acclaimed by the general public, the press, and the offshore racing world. Solo, double-handed, or in a crew, Bertrand de Broc has sailed on all the oceans of the globe. He has participated in the legendary Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum, and various transatlantic races, both double-handed and solo, on Figaro, 60-foot monohulls, or multihulls.

Bertrand de Broc is well known for having to stitch his own tongue: during the 1992 edition of the Vendée Globe, he cut his tongue in a collision with a mainsail sheet. After consulting the race doctor via telex, he performed the suture himself.

On February 29, 2012, he announced his intention to participate in the Vendée Globe 2012-2013, and proposed to finance the race, as he had done for his participation in 1996, by inviting individuals and companies to sponsor him, in exchange for which their name would be marked on the hull of his boat. He relaunched the operation Your Name Around the World.

On November 10, 2012, Bertrand de Broc set off in the Vendée Globe and completed his round-the-world adventure 3 months later, on February 10, 2013, after 92 days at sea, finishing in 9th place in this Vendée Globe.
