About Nathalie Dörfliger

Nathalie Dörfliger holds a PhD in Sciences from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and a Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Neuchâtel and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Switzerland). With over 20 years of experience in Hydrogeology, water resources, and resource protection, she is currently the Director of the Water, Environment and Ecotechnologies Service at BRGM (Bureau de Recherche Géologiques et Minières).

BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) is the public institution of reference in the applications of Earth sciences to manage soil and subsoil resources and risks.

She joined BRGM in 1998, following her doctorate, as a post-doctoral hydrogeologist. In 2000, she was appointed project leader for KARSTEAU, and from 2004 to 2008, she led the EAUR15 framework project. In 2010, she was appointed head of a WATER/NRE unit “New resources and economy”.

She has been a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists since 1995 and a member of the French Hydrogeology Committee since 1998.
